Excited to be reading Daydreams,
the newest novel in
The Lewis Series
by JoAnn Durgin
so soon after reading
“Meet Me Under the Mistletoe”
became instantly apparent in my estimation that
Daydreams is the BEST in the series to date!!
JoAnn’s exceptional talent to write from an active imagination well expressed two unique people falling in love. Lots of humor in the bantering between lead characters, Amy and Landon, is one of JoAnn’s niftiest hooks to keep your attention glued to the story.
Daydreams is wisely and intuitively written. Conversations are lively and allow personal thoughts to easily visualize all the characters. Personally, I like those qualities in Ms Durgin’s characters that aren’t worldly…and they are bull’s eye characters for the devil to taunt. It does take one with lots of compassion to understand those hurt by the negative influences thrown at us. Those traits are part of the author’s natural God given gifts radiating from every page of the story. She touches me deeply in my faith and feelings with her words.
There are so many facets and facts built into this story that became my favorite parts, which I don’t dare tell for fear of revealing surprises. So, you’ll need to read it yourselves. JoAnn writes from her heart and her true faith in our Lord Jesus. I will say that she does get a bit more “on the edge” with Amy and Landon’s story. JoAnn’s mind is wide open on this one and the story is strong and tender. In the background other people and problems are introduced that undoubtedly JoAnn has some further revealing to do in another book to come from her brilliant writing and imaginary skills.
JoAnn is a dear friend, and I’m intrigued by her ear for listening to the Lord. Remarkable! This same gift is shown through all of the Teamwork crew. “They aren’t afraid to LIVE their faith,” as JoAnn has told me. It was a blessing to meet her at the American Christian Fiction Writers convention in Dallas last fall, and we fast became friends.
JoAnn’s writing technique is golden and there is dignity written all over the pages. Her best writing yet!! She goes deeper here, that’s for sure. . Hope your interest is piqued….cause mine was and I couldn’t put the book down for very long. Daydreams is a must read. Ya gotta take a look!!!
